Head to the mall this Canada Day to shop the many seasonal sales taking place before celebrating this evening! At the time of this photoshoot in Paris I had paid full price for my outfit. Although it breaks my heart to see it now 70% off, I have to share the details so a couple of you can take advantage of this awesome deal!

What I’m wearing: Off-the-shoulder lace top from Abercrombie & Fitch ($20), destroyed high-rise super skinny jeans from Abercrombie & Fitch ($37), chocker from Forever 21, leather sandals from American Eagle, and Clubmaster sunglasses from Ray-Ban.

I love playing a tourist in my hometown. Exploring all of the cute little nooks and crannies that Fredericton has to offer makes me fall in love with the city all over again. You can find this red clock downtown in the alleyway next to Brewbakers restaurant on King Street.

What I’m wearing: This light denim RD Style shirtdress from Studio 103 was a lucky find! Now, whenever I go shopping, in the back of my mind I am always asking myself if a garment is work-appropriate. As a newly employed graphic designer with the fresh sting of student-debt still lingering in my bank account, it is paramount that the items I buy serve multiple purposes. This dress is not only casual and comfortable, perfect for day-to-day activities, but it is also tailored enough to turn heads at the office.

Necklace & Earrings: Forever 21, Bracelets: Alex & Ani, Shoes: Winners

Monet’s Garden

Day 8 of my Paris trip was spent in Giverny exploring Claude Monet’s house and garden. From 1983 on, Monet, best-known for his large-scale water lily paintings, lived in Giverny with his wife and eight children until his death in 1929. It was a perfect day to visit the area that inspired the celebrated impressionist’s paintings. The garden’s were indeed picturesque. At the end of his career, Monet had hired up to seven gardeners to tend to the estate. It is the second most visited tourist site in Normandy after the Mont-Saint-Michel, with 530,000 visitors in 2010. It is easy to see why Monet chose to settle down here.

Although it feels like I’ve gained an extra 10 pounds after this weekend’s Thanksgiving festivities, it was so great to get back to my roots and spend some quality time with family and friends back in New Brunswick. This year my family celebrated Turkey Day up at our cottage located in Upper Queensbury on the Mactaquac Headpond. The trees had just turned colours so we couldn’t resist doing a quick photoshoot (in between servings) at this beautiful location that is so close to my heart. With staying cozy in mind, I paired my burgundy twisted cowl neck sweater and marled beanie from Joe Fresh with Lululemon Wunder Unders, Roots Cabin Socks and short Hunter boots in Military Red. For a more polished look, I ditched the beanie and swapped out the Hunters for a more lux black leather boot (try the Bryce Stretch-Back Leather Boot from Michael Kors). Happy Shopping!
